Aloha couples! Planning your 2025 destination wedding here on Oahu? You’re in for some incredible trends! As a Hawaii wedding planner and coordinator, and a florist at Jasper and Lace, I’m always excited to help couples make their wedding dreams a reality. Let’s dive into some of the top trends we’re seeing for 2025 and how you can bring them into your big day.

1. Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Weddings

Sustainability is huge right now, and it’s not going anywhere in 2025. Couples are looking for ways to reduce waste while still creating something gorgeous. One of the best ways to do this? Renting or buying decor from places like Goodwill or local rental companies or using locally sourced florals and foliage that grow right here in Hawaii, like tropical greenery. This keeps your wedding authentic, beautiful, and eco-friendly!

How to make it happen:

  • Choose native Hawaiian florals like protea, anthuriums, and ferns.

  • Use eco-friendly invites (digital is awesome!) and sustainable wedding favors.

  • Think about reusable decor or renting items to cut down on waste.

2. Bold, Vibrant Color Palettes

2025 is bringing the fun with bold colors! Think bright, tropical hues—fuchsia, oranges, blues, and more. These lively colors add so much energy and life to your wedding day, and they look amazing against Hawaii’s natural backdrop.

How to make it happen:

  • Go bold with tropical flowers in vibrant hues.

  • Incorporate your color palette in bridesmaids’ dresses, table linens, or even your cake design.

    • Different colors bridesmaid dresses (or incorporating prints) are the perfect way to make full use of a bold color palette!

  • Don’t be afraid to mix and match bold colors—trust me, Hawaii can handle it!

3. Personalized, Intimate Experiences

Weddings are becoming smaller and more personal, and I honestly couldn’t be more excited about it! Couples want meaningful details that tell their story, without all the fuss of big, staged productions. Whether it’s writing your own vows or weaving in family traditions, it’s all about making the day unique to you.

How to make it happen:

  • Include personal touches like a custom welcome box with local treats for your guests.

    • Our favorite local treats to include in welcome boxes or bags:

      • Noms or Enjoy Snacks -for a little taste of the islands

      • Jules and Gem - the perfect local fragrances for home, body, and more!

      • Greenworld Coffee - an amazing variety of local coffee and tea blends grown, roasted, and brewed right here on Oahu!

      • Kohala Rum - perfect for the alcohol lovers, grown and processed right here on Oahu

  • Add fun, interactive elements like a cocktail station where guests can create their own drinks.

  • Design a memory wall with photos and messages from loved ones.

4. Floral Installations and Living Arches

Floral installations aren’t just trendy—they’re magical! Living arches, floral walls, and suspended blooms are still going strong in 2025. These big, statement pieces create an unforgettable atmosphere for your ceremony and reception.

How to make it happen:

  • Say “I do” under a lush floral arch with the mountains or ocean as your backdrop.

  • Add some drama to your reception with hanging floral arrangements or greenery chandeliers.

  • Mix in non-floral elements like tons of linens, textures, drapery, or candles to make it your own.

5. Bringing the Indoors Outside

Outdoor lounges and dining setups are all the rage, especially for destination weddings in Hawaii. It’s the perfect way to combine the luxury of indoor comfort with Hawaii’s stunning natural beauty.

How to make it happen:

  • Set up a cozy lounge area with rattan furniture and comfy cushions.

  • Create a beachside dance floor with soft lighting so guests can dance under the stars.

Trends are Fun, But Timeless Always Wins

While trends are fun to explore and can make your wedding feel fresh and current, remember that they come and go. If you’re ever in doubt, opt for something timeless. Classic elegance—whether in florals, decor, or colors—will never go out of style. Think simple, chic designs, neutral tones, or traditional elements that will always look beautiful in your photos years from now.

But hey, it doesn’t hurt to know what’s in (or out) in the wedding world, right? You can always sprinkle in a few trendy elements while keeping the overall vibe timeless and true to you!

2025 is all about bold colors, sustainability, and making your wedding feel truly you. At Jasper and Lace, we’re here to help you bring your dream wedding to life, whether it’s an intimate elopement or a big celebration. Let’s make it happen together!
